How to uninstall Keka on Mac completely
Keka is an archiver with a Finder extension and, if you made it your default app for archives, a small helper. Deleting the app removes the extension too, but its containers, settings and cache stay in your Library folder. Here is how to remove all of it.

- Open MacWashing and choose Uninstaller in the sidebar.
- Click Show Apps and check Keka in the list.
- Click Remove and confirm. Files that may be yours are listed as Possible and stay unchecked.

Delete Keka in Finder
This works the same for the App Store version and the one from keka.io:
- Make sure Keka isn’t compressing or extracting anything, then quit it: choose Keka › Quit Keka.
- Open Finder › Applications and drag Keka to the Trash.
- Enter your administrator password if macOS asks for it.
Keka’s own help describes the same steps: delete the app, then remove Keka’s container and group container and the Finder extension’s container. These are the first three paths in the list below.
What Keka leaves behind
All of these are in the Library folder inside your home folder:
~/Library/Containers/com.aone.keka— Keka’s container: its settings and, if you installed it, the helper that makes Keka the default app for archives.~/Library/Containers/com.aone.keka.KekaFinderIntegration— the container of Keka’s Finder extension.~/Library/Group Containers/4FG648TM2A.group.com.aone.keka— data Keka shares with its extension.~/Library/Preferences/com.aone.keka.plist— settings.~/Library/Application Support/Keka— Keka’s data folder from older versions.~/Library/Caches/com.aone.keka— the cache.~/Library/Application Scripts/com.aone.kekaand~/Library/Application Scripts/com.aone.keka.KekaFinderIntegration— service folders macOS makes for the app and its extension.
Archives you made or extracted elsewhere are your files and stay where they are.
Remove the leftovers by hand
- In Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G), type a path from the list above and press Return.
- Move the folder or file to the Trash.
- Repeat for the other paths.
- Restart your Mac, so Finder no longer loads the extension, then empty the Trash.

If Keka opened your archives
If you made Keka the default app for archives, choose another one after removing it: select an archive in Finder, choose File › Get Info, pick an app under Open with, and click Change All.
With MacWashing, it’s one click

The Uninstaller in MacWashing knows the files Keka creates in your Library folder and removes them together with the app, its Finder extension’s containers included. Folders that may hold your own files are listed as Possible and stay unchecked until you check them yourself.

Questions and answers
Will MacWashing delete my own files when it removes Keka?
No. The Uninstaller checks only what belongs to the app: its settings, caches, logs and background items. Folders that may hold your own files are listed as Possible and stay unchecked until you check them yourself, and apps go to the Trash by default, so you can put them back.
What if Keka is still running?
MacWashing waits for it to quit, or quits it at your request, and only then removes its files.
Is it free to uninstall Keka with MacWashing?
Yes, within the free trial: System Junk and the Uninstaller free up to 25 GB in total, with no account or card needed.
Does uninstalling Keka delete my archives?
No. Archives you created and files you extracted are in the folders you chose, and deleting Keka doesn’t touch them.
Will Keka disappear from the Finder menu?
Yes. The Finder extension is inside the app, so it goes away when you delete Keka. If you still see it, restart your Mac.
I bought Keka in the App Store. Can I get it back later?
Yes. The purchase stays with your Apple Account: open the App Store, find Keka in your purchased apps and download it again at no charge.
