How to uninstall DBeaver on Mac completely
DBeaver keeps everything you create in it — connections, SQL scripts, projects, diagrams — in a data folder in your Library, together with the database drivers it downloaded. Deleting the app leaves that folder in place. Your databases are not affected: DBeaver only connects to them.

- Open MacWashing and choose Uninstaller in the sidebar.
- Click Show Apps and check DBeaver in the list.
- Click Remove and confirm. Files that may be yours are listed as Possible and stay unchecked.

Before you start: back up your workspace
If you may use DBeaver again, on this Mac or another one, save your work first. DBeaver offers two ways.
- To save specific items, choose File › Export, select DBeaver, then choose Projects or Scripts.
- Choose where to save them and click Finish. Later you can bring them back with File › Import.
- Or, to keep everything, copy the whole
~/Library/DBeaverData/workspace6folder somewhere safe: DBeaver’s documentation says this is how to move all of your workspace to another machine.
Delete DBeaver in Finder
- Quit DBeaver: right-click its icon in the Dock and choose Quit.
- Open Finder › Applications and drag DBeaver to the Trash.
This removes the app only. Its workspace, drivers and settings stay in your Library folder.
What DBeaver leaves behind
All of these are in the Library folder inside your home folder:
~/Library/DBeaverData— DBeaver’s data folder: the workspace, downloaded database drivers, saved credentials and global settings.~/Library/Caches/org.jkiss.dbeaver.core.product— the cache.~/Library/Preferences/org.jkiss.dbeaver.core.product.plist— the app’s macOS settings.~/Library/Saved Application State/org.jkiss.dbeaver.core.product.savedState— the saved window state.~/Library/HTTPStorages/org.jkiss.dbeaver.core.product— data the app keeps for its network connections.
~/Library/DBeaverData/workspace6 is your workspace: connections, SQL scripts, projects and diagrams. They are your work, not leftovers: export them or copy the folder, as above, before you delete DBeaverData.
Remove the leftovers by hand
- In Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G), type a path from the list above and press Return.
- Move the folder or file to the Trash.
- Repeat for the other paths.
- Restart your Mac, then empty the Trash.
DBeaver isn’t the only app that leaves files behind: see how to uninstall apps on Mac completely.
If you used an old DBeaver version
According to DBeaver’s documentation, versions before 6.1.3 kept the workspace in ~/.dbeaver4, and versions before DBeaver 4 in ~/.dbeaver. These hidden folders in your home folder may still be there. Check them for scripts you want to keep before you delete them.
With MacWashing, it’s one click

The Uninstaller in MacWashing knows the files DBeaver creates in your Library folder and removes them together with the app. Folders that may hold your own files, like your workspace with connections and scripts, are listed as Possible and stay unchecked until you check them yourself.

Questions and answers
Will MacWashing delete my own files when it removes DBeaver?
No. The Uninstaller checks only what belongs to the app: its settings, caches, logs and background items. Folders that may hold your own files are listed as Possible and stay unchecked until you check them yourself, and apps go to the Trash by default, so you can put them back.
What if DBeaver is still running?
MacWashing waits for it to quit, or quits it at your request, and only then removes its files.
Is it free to uninstall DBeaver with MacWashing?
Yes, within the free trial: System Junk and the Uninstaller free up to 25 GB in total, with no account or card needed.
Does uninstalling DBeaver delete my databases?
No. DBeaver is only a client: your data stays on the database servers you connect to. Local database files, such as SQLite files, stay wherever you saved them.
Will I lose my connections and scripts?
Deleting the app alone keeps them in ~/Library/DBeaverData. They are lost when you delete that folder, so export them or copy the workspace first.
Can I reinstall DBeaver later?
Yes. Download it again from dbeaver.io. If the old DBeaverData folder is still there, DBeaver opens your workspace as before. Otherwise import what you exported with File › Import.
