How to uninstall Webex on Mac completely
Webex leaves settings, caches and web data in your Library folder, and many Macs also carry files from the older Webex Meetings app. Cisco offers its own uninstaller for the Webex app. Here is how to use it, how to delete Webex by hand, and where the leftovers are.

- Open MacWashing and choose Uninstaller in the sidebar.
- Click Show Apps and check Webex in the list.
- Click Remove and confirm. Files that may be yours are listed as Possible and stay unchecked.

Uninstall Webex with Webex Uninstaller
Cisco publishes a separate app, Webex Uninstaller, in the Webex Help Center article “Uninstall Webex App on macOS”. There are two downloads: one for Apple silicon Macs and one for Intel Macs.
- Download the version for your Mac from help.webex.com and open it.
- If Webex is running, the uninstaller asks you to quit it first.
- To keep your user data and remove only the app, select Keep the user files and data. Leave it off to remove everything.
- Click OK and enter your Mac’s password when asked. A message tells you when Webex has been removed.
The older Cisco Webex Meetings app has its own tool, Cisco Webex Meeting Application Uninstaller, described in a separate Help Center article.
Or delete Webex in Finder
- Quit Webex: right-click its icon in the Dock and choose Quit, and quit it in the menu bar too if it has an icon there.
- Open Finder › Applications and drag Webex to the Trash.
- Enter your administrator password if macOS asks for it.
What Webex leaves behind
Check these places in the Library folder inside your home folder. The first ones belong to the Webex app:
~/Library/Caches/Cisco-Systems.Spark— the cache.~/Library/Preferences/Cisco-Systems.Spark.plist— settings.~/Library/WebKit/Cisco-Systems.Spark— web data of the app’s built-in browser views.~/Library/Saved Application State/Cisco-Systems.Spark.savedState— the saved window state.~/Library/Application Support/Webex Meetings— data of the Webex Meetings app.~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.cisco.webex.meetings— data shared by Webex Meetings components.~/Library/Caches/com.webex.meetingmanager— the Webex Meetings cache.~/Library/Logs/Webex Meetings— Webex Meetings logs.
If you still use Webex Meetings, leave the last four folders: they belong to that app, not to Webex.
Remove the leftovers by hand
- In Finder, choose Go › Go to Folder (Shift-Command-G), type a path from the list above and press Return.
- Move the folder or file to the Trash.
- Repeat for the other paths.
- Restart your Mac, then empty the Trash.

Questions and answers
Will MacWashing delete my own files when it removes Webex?
No. The Uninstaller checks only what belongs to the app: its settings, caches, logs and background items. Folders that may hold your own files are listed as Possible and stay unchecked until you check them yourself, and apps go to the Trash by default, so you can put them back.
What if Webex is still running?
MacWashing waits for it to quit, or quits it at your request, and only then removes its files.
Is it free to uninstall Webex with MacWashing?
Yes, within the free trial: System Junk and the Uninstaller free up to 25 GB in total, with no account or card needed.
Which uninstaller do I need: Webex or Webex Meetings?
Webex Uninstaller removes the Webex app. If you also have the older Cisco Webex Meetings app, use Cisco Webex Meeting Application Uninstaller — note that it removes every Webex app on the Mac, the Webex app included. Both are on help.webex.com.
Why does Webex Uninstaller ask for my password?
It needs administrator rights to remove all of Webex’s files, so macOS asks for your Mac’s password first. Cisco’s instructions include this step.
I only want to reinstall Webex. Do I have to lose my data?
No. Select Keep the user files and data in Webex Uninstaller: it removes only the app, and you can install a fresh copy after that.
