Before you download
Deezer has one installer for all Macs: the same file works on Apple Silicon and Intel. The current app needs macOS 12 Monterey or later. Check your version in Apple menu › About This Mac.
The app is available to every Deezer user, free plan included. Offline listening, downloading tracks to your Mac, is only on the paid plans.
Download Deezer only from deezer.com. On an older Mac, listen in the browser at deezer.com instead of installing the app.
How to install Deezer
- Open the downloaded Deezer
.dmgin your Downloads folder. - In the window that opens, drag Deezer to the Applications folder.

- Eject the Deezer disk: click the eject button next to it in the Finder sidebar.
- Open Deezer from Applications and click Open when macOS asks about an app downloaded from the internet.

What to set up after the first launch
- Opening at login. If Deezer starts with your Mac and you don’t want it to, turn it off in System Settings › General › Login Items.
- Cache. Like other music apps, Deezer keeps data about what you play, and its cache grows over time.
- Offline tracks. On a paid plan, tracks you download for listening without internet stay on your disk. Remove the playlists you no longer need offline.
- The installer. Once Deezer runs, move the
.dmgfrom Downloads to the Trash: you won’t need it again.
If Deezer won’t install or open
- «Deezer is damaged and can’t be opened». The download was incomplete. Delete the file and download it again from Deezer’s website.
- Deezer doesn’t start on an older Mac. Check your macOS version in About This Mac: the current app needs macOS 12 or later.
- An old copy gets in the way. Quit Deezer, move it from Applications to the Trash and install it again from a fresh download.
